What You Need To Know About Shark Fishing

By Jerry Collinsburg

Every sport there is has a category that is set aside for the extreme. Believe it or not, there are some that were not scared by the movie Jaws and they choose to seek out sharks instead of run from them. If you are so bold as to take on shark fishing, you should understand some basics before hitting the open waters.

Sharks can be found all over the world, most of them like water temperatures to be in the 75 degree water range, give or take. If you are serious about fishing for big sharks you should try and stay away from extremely warm waters.

There are some main fishing items you will need before you go shark fishing. This will consist of multiple fishing rods, the more lines you have out the better chance you have of catching a big one. These fishing rods and reels should hold at least 200 yards of line and at least 60 pound test.

There are many types of bait that you can use, you could use live bait, which is preferred, cutting the tail off will increase the scent of the bait also. Chum will also greatly increase you chances of hooking up with a shark, bloody the waters and they will come.

Depending on what type of shark you are going after, will mainly decide what kind of bait and tackle set up you will need. Some sharks like to swim really deep, while others will rise to the surface when they smell the blood, hook size is very important along with having a gaff if you plan on landing the shark.

Once you hook up with a shark for the first time, you better be ready and have your safety strap on. Some sharks will run form the boat while others will charge towards you making the fight easier in some cases, also some sharks will drag the bait while others will just take it in quickly with one bite.

Landing a shark requires help, and your helper should have experience. One option would be to gaff the shark, and be careful when shark is on the boat as they will stay alive for a good amount of time when out of the water. If the shark is too large and you want to keep it you will have to drag it in the water back to base with a wire or rope.

Sharks should only be kept if the intentions are to eat them or hang them on the wall. They have been over fished in the past and used only for their fins, which is now illegal. Help protect the sharks by cutting the line and letting them go, the hook will eventually rot out and will not harm the shark if the line is cut.

As with most other airports, the Syracuse airfield only has a limited number of airlines that offer travelers service. Just a few of those airlines include American Eagle, Continental, ComAir-Delta Airlines, JetBule, Northwest Airlines, United Express, Allegheny Airlines, Mesa Airlines, Shuttle America, and US Airways. By contacting the Syracuse International Airport, you should be healthy to obtain a full list of airlines that offer service to travelers in or around the area.

Before arriving at the airport, you will not only need to ensure that you have all of the proper finding documents, the ones needed for international flights, but you will also need to examine how you will get to the airport. If you are unable to find a friend or family member to drop you off at the airport, you will want to examine local taxi or bus companies. What to Pack for a Cruise

By Peter Wilson

When going on vacation, it is very important to create a checklist so you don't forget essential items you will need. These items include watch, hat, camera, notebook, toothbrush, razor, and other small items. Make your list a few days in advance and add to it each time you think of another item. When packing, go over your list to make sure everything you have is on it. You may want to also go into your bathroom and check to see if there is anything else you will need. This is especially important if you are taking a cruise as you will have fewer opportunities to buy these items once you set sail.

Items like your electric razor may slip your mind while packing. If you don't want to bring your razor with you, pack a few disposable razors. They require less room in your luggage and if you lose them or forget to pack them when your vacation is over, you will not miss them. Putting together a travel toiletry bag in advance is a good way to ensure you have everything you need while on vacation. Buying travel sized items at the grocery store or drug store is less expensive than replacing full sized bottles that you have forgotten to pack when returning from your vacation.

Brining a hat along on a cruise can help protect you from the sun and help you stay cool when on the deck. Most hats are not expensive, so you should be able to find one that you like. Wide-brimmed hats are the best because they offer the most protection. Find one in a bright color and you are all set for your cruise. Hats are also easy to wash and usually match most outfits.

If you take medications, remember to fill your prescriptions before your trip and remember to pack them. Proper holiday planning can make your vacation more enjoyable especially if you need to take certain medications each day. If you don't want to bring the entire bottle with you, purchasing a travel case with the amount you will need on the vacation is also acceptable.

An item most people do not think about until it is too late are batteries. Batteries for your camera, alarm clock, and iPod or CD player will be needed as excessive use will wear batteries down quickly. Find out how many batteries you will need for each of your devices and buy extras so you don't run low while on your cruise.

All too often people are so excited about their vacation, they forget the simplest things until it is too late. Planning in advance by creating a list, packing a travel bag, and filling prescriptions are all ways to keep from forgetting to pack essential items. Holiday planning may seem exhaustive, but you will appreciate it once you are settled in your hotel or on the ship.

As for the itineraries, Mississippi river cruises can either be round trips, leaving and returning at the same port, or can be between two cities. The former is more common for shorter cruises, while trips of a week or more tend to be one way only.

Mississippi river cruises are also for all budgets. You can get a no-frills transport and eat cheaply onshore, or even hire your own small boat. But if you are so inclined, you can also travel on the more luxurious boats and enjoy a very lavish holiday.

My Dad's Fishing Boat

By Charlie Reese

The first time I went on a fishing boat I was about 25 years old. I had always been scared of water previously and, to be honest, if I hadn't been a bit drunk and in sort of a reckless mood that day, I wouldn't have even agree to go out. The friend who took me out was just the opposite of me.

He had practically been raised on fishing boats. He had been sea fishing, lake fishing, river fly fishing " he had done pretty much any kind of fishing you could think of. He had even done it professionally for a couple of years, but had left that life behind because he missed his girlfriend too much.

The sort of expedition we were going on was pretty tame in comparison to some of the stuff he had done. This was not one of those big deep sea fishing boats that I used to watch going out to sea when our family would take trips out to the ocean side. This was just a little aluminum fishing boat " basically a small, flat bottomed boat with a little outboard motor on it. It was stable for its size, but its size wasn't very big.

As soon as we left sure, I started to regret it. As I said, I'd never been on fishing boats before, and rocking back and forth, already a little tipsy, was doing nothing to assuage my anxious stomach. All my other friends made fun of me because I was hanging on for dear life as we went along at the overwhelming speed of 5 knots.

As soon as he moored it in the middle of the water, however, I calmed down a little bit. I didn't realize that, with fishing boats, the goal was to find a good spot and then sit there. I would have been down with that. I just wasn't into the traveling to and from part. As soon as we were sitting there, rocking gently with the waves, I actually started to enjoy it. It was really mellowing me out nicely, and the look of the sea and the sky had me drifting off into a blissful state. I did not actually catch anything, but one of my friends did. He got a big bass that was actually large enough to feed all of us together. We took it in, cleaned it and cooked it up, and served it simple with some boiled potatoes. Somehow, the fact that we had caught it made it taste better.

Carp Fishing Robin Red Bait Secrets!

By Tim Richardson

Robin Red is a carp bait additive that has had an incredible effect on carp catches for decades, but its recipe and how it works is surrounded by controversy and relatively few carp anglers use it to its full potential. Discover some clues about it and its very effective use here...

Robin Red is part of the range of bird foods from a company called Haiths of Cleethorpes England. At present their top ten selling products include the following: Robin Red, Red Factor, Nectarblend, Red Band, Prosecto Insectivorous, Soft Bill, Multi Mix, and Carpticle Mix, Super Red and hempseed. This company have many decades of experience formulating specialised foods for birds for all stages of development and for enhancing plumage, growth, health and so on and these products ideally fit the bill as it were for carp!

Robin Red is a legendary additive and has been known to transform poor catch results instantly. Many of the bird food items mentioned previously have been incorporated into bird food based baits and have been ideal having such digestible and open textures to deliver the stimulation and attraction of Robin Red in baits extremely efficiently. Robin Red is available from endless bait companies but my advice is before you go buying loads, get a small sample from hinders first and them you will be better placed to judge if a bait company product is at least near to the real thing, is the real thing or an outright fake; but only your actual fishing results on each of these will truly tell you what is best to use of course!

So many commercial ground baits and readymade boilies and pellets contain Robin Red that it may be that using a homemade bait without it means your personal unique homemade bait is the only bait that does not contain it at your water! Using a bait with very low levels or even no Robin Red can even work in your favour as carp might well regard it as an indicator of potential danger these days on pressured carp waters. In doing further research on this product you will discover ways to incorporate known components of it into your baits and make your bait effective while avoiding using robin Red itself...

You can apply Robin Red to any boilie, pellet, ground bait, fake or live bait etc as it will penetrate and even dye red most things. Dampening it with Ccmoore red Venom will make Robin Red seriously ideal for neat PVA product use or when using method mixes, sod and stick mixes etc with Robin Red in... Liquid Red Venom is a great partner for the very granular Robin Red and both are outstanding for all year round uses and applications (and especially winter-time...)

The formula of Robin Red is secret but what it does to fish is not! Certainly Robin Red is confirmed by Hinders as not containing Carophyll red pigment, but what about other bioactive pigments, such as cantaxanthin? How many carp have been observed to turn a reddish colour at fisheries where Robin Red is applied regularly in even moderate levels; this has made many of my winter fish look amazing!

In making homemade boilies just using an ounce of Robin Red per pound of dry mix will certainly boost the effectiveness of very many base mixes and especially when you use a very cheap mix based on crushed Red Band, semolina and soya flour for instance. While adding Robin Red to dampened pellets and to liquids to make Robin Red dips works why not try the purpose-designed Red Venom from Ccmoore which is highly soluble and clouds the water red; ideal for winter and summer use! One combination from Haiths that is particularly outstanding is their Super Red which is a mix of the following and can be used dry in PVA bags:

Robin Red, crushed tiger nuts, crushed Carpticle, peanut granules, crushed hemp seed, Red Factor, teasel seed, and aniseed oil. You can apply this as a paste bait, method mix or ground bait and many bait companies have their own unique versions so do investigate them and get catching big-time, (for more big carp secrets read on...)

Custom Boat Seats Done Right

By Frank Gehry

You may be planning to put new seats in an old boat, or maybe you want to modify existing seating. In both cases, it will make sense to address yourself to a custom boat seat manufacturer. Follow this guide to learn how to do it.

Boat seats can serve multiple special purposes on watercraft. Some seats are made for captains and skippers, others for the crew, and others again for passengers or people fishing. You need to bear the specifics and the purpose of the seat in mind when ordering bespoke boat seats.

The first step to getting purpose-made boat seats is to write down a detailed list for the necessary specifications. Once you have done that, present the list to more than one manufacturer, several if possible.

Once you have the replies, don't only look at the price but also at how professional the reply was. You don't want to take the cheapest offer only to find yourself stuck with an unprofessional manufacturer.

Space and sizing is the most important factor - you need to make sure that the manufacturer is building the boat seats to the precise measurements of the space where they will be fitted, and if possible that he commits in advance to modifying the seats if they don't fit on installation.

You should also draw up specifications on the fabric, the style and the color as well as for any special modifications. As you will be getting these boat seats custom-made, all these details will be up to you.

There are plenty of other important customizations available besides the fabric, the color and the style. For starters, Boat seats can come with or without armrests, and some are padded, others not.

Boat seat padding can be of many different types, light, medium or heavy, removable as in cushions, or fixed. Be sure to specify all this, especially if you are taking a lot of passengers on your boat.

Boat seat materials are another very important point. If you are going to install the seats on a vintage yacht, for instance you will want the seating of the right material to fit with the rest of the boat. If you use wood on your boat seats, make sure that it had been pressure-treated

Once you receive the seats, make sure that there are no protruding hard parts that will make being seated for a long time an uncomfortable proposition, or no on will want to sit down on your custom boat seats.

It may seem as if the resort is far removed from civilization, but in fact, it's just a 15 minute trip to the Denpasar airport. And the flower bedecked town of Nusa Dua is just a walk away for guests who want to do some shopping, dining or clubbing.

Ten Point To Determine The Value Of Boats And Yachts

By John Howard

When considering whether to independently determine the value of a boat before buying or selling, you may find the following evaluation checklist of help. We also suggest that you do this appraisal together with a friend as four eyes see better than two. You can use this checklist when looking at the vessel, to help you examine the condition of the boat, and to spot repairs or improvements that may be necessary to take into account before settling on a final price.

1) Start with the boat hull and understructure. Are there any scrapes, cracks, signs of badly executed repairs, or fading? All these will negatively impact the boat value. Please note that the hull is best examined with the boat out of the water.

2) Next, look at hatches and fittings on the superstructure. Ideally, everything should fit well, be watertight, in good condition and not warped by dampness. Any exceptions to this warrant a discount on the total price.

3) Check engine(s), steering & transmission: Check that the steering and throttle control cables are in good condition and that the wheel moves freely (and without squeaking) and that the transmission smooth, from forward, to neutral, to reverse. Check the oil level of the engine and examine the colour and texture of the oil. If it's grainy or gritty, they're possibly tiny slivers of metal that indicate potentially serious mechanical problems. If the oil has a slightly milky appearance, it signifies that there is a water leak into the engine.

4) Test electrics & switches: Test anything that has a switch or a handle, to see that they function correctly, in particular navigation lights, horn, bilge pumps, internal lights, winches, heating, generator, cooking facilities, taps, toilets. Also check all electrical cabling, looking for any signs of repair, temporary fixes, rust and loose connections.

5) Check the bilges for watermarks and signs of oil leaks: Check the bilges, beneath the engine for water ingress and for oil. If oil is present, it's a sign of an engine oil leak. Also look for water stain lines inside the boat or inside any engine compartment. If they exist, it would indicate that there has been some kind of flooding.

6) What condition are the external surfaces in? Examine all external surfaces with care. This includes the gel coat, the woodwork and the upholstery. Some wear and tear will be inevitable, but they will reflect the general condition of the boat. If you are the seller, it can make sense to change the upholstery as this is an inexpensive upgrade that can add more value to the boat than it will cost you.

7) What condition is the woodwork in? You should especially be on the outlook for any damp spots; in general these are darker than the surrounding wood and will be soft to touch. Do also check for warped, chipped and loose woodwork.

8) For sailing boats, check the sails and the rigging . Check that all the sails and rigging (including spares) are in good condition; do not only look for evidence of repairs, but also make sure everything functions easily and flows freely.

9) Are accessories included? If yes, what equipment is on board? Check whether accessories and other equipment are part of the deal. The new owner is going to need them anyway, so it's usually of advantage to both parties to include them (unless the seller needs them for another boat).

10) Check the safety equipment: Pay special attention to the boat's safety equipment, whether or not it is included - if it is complete and in good shape, there are good chances that the boat has been kept in good order.

By Matt Rowlands

We want to have our clothes, shoes, and some personal belongings along with us but a new dilemma has come along with it; Travel means you have to go light for some air travel related concerns and of course, for the simple reason that you don't want to carry all these stuff with you and cause the very thing you avoided; discomfort.

Material is also a priority because it will give the traveler the idea of how strong their bag is and will it able to hold on for a long time. Buy a bag made of almost any type of material, but nylon is optimal for weight, strength, durability and style. Look for material with a tight, dense weave, and seams with solid stitching. Carrying a suitcase is a hard labor and so Wheels are very important for a traveler because it cancels most weight and drag in traveling. Most bags today have wheels. Look for wheels that are at least 2.5 inches (6cm) in diameter for smoother rolling along surfaces from moving sidewalks to cobblestone to pavement.

If a luggage has wheels, it should have a handle for pulling it comfortably. When you visit a store, it is advisable you perform a series of test drives to make sure you can pull it comfortably without it hitting your heels as you walk. The handle should lock into place both in the extended position for ease of use, and in the retracted position to prevent damage to the handle if the bag is checked. Also, don't go for metal zippers, the new synthetic zippers are just as strong and lighter in weight and make sure the zipper pulls can be secured with a lock, so that bags contents stay secured.

There are countless Features that come along with the purchase of the luggage; extra zippered pockets, a key ring holder, organizer panels and compression straps. Remember to look for additional features that will make the bag not only more functional, but easier and more convenient to use.

If you are a first-time flyer or if you have a problem with flying in general, it is advised that you learn to calm your nerves as much as possible. Although it may seem impossible to do, there are a number of benefits to doing so, namely for your own safety.

Unfortunately, in today?s society it seems as if air travel has gotten a little bit out of control. Airport security, airline personnel, as well as other passengers, are all concerned with their safety. While it is important to be concerned with your safety and the safety of others, it is seem as if what it takes to make everyone feel unsafe has also gotten a little bit out of control. If you are on an airplane, especially on an international flight, and someone carelessly mentioned the word bomb, your flight would probably land at the nearest airport. The same can be said for uncooperative passengers. That is why it is extremely important that you remain calm, aboard an airplane, at all times.

Many travelers are nervous about flying, all on its own, however, others display a wide array of emotions for other reasons. One of those reasons is dissatisfaction. On international flights, like all other flights, you will find that your actions are limited in the air. There are only certain times when you can remove your seatbelts, use the bathroom, or use your electronic equipment. If these times do not meet with your schedule, you are advised to just deal with it. Becoming upset or hysterical will not accomplish anything for you; expect for maybe a date with local authorities at your next stop.

One of the number one reasons why trouble begins on a plane, even if is innocent enough as being scared to fly, is because travelers do not know the consequences of their actions. A nervous, jittery, or confrontational passenger is what flight attendants are taught to look for. Although you may not be a terrorist, you may be displaying noticeable symptoms. In the event that this does happen, your plane will likely be rerouted, where you and other passengers will be met with airport security or local authorities. Depending on what your actions involved, you may be charged with disorderly conduct or something similar. Essentially, this means that it is extremely important that you remain calm at all times.

All international airports are on high alert. This means that they will not only be looking for prohibited items, but suspicious travelers as well. If you are nervous about flying, you need to think of something enjoyable; it may help to calm your nerves. If you are asked to do something by airport security, such as step aside, you are advised to do so. If you do not, it is likely that a confrontation could brew. Starting a confrontation in airport is just as serious as starting one in the air. In fact, you will likely be met with the same consequences, as mentioned above.

Although it is important to know what could happen to you if you fail to remain clam in an international airport or aboard an international flight, is it is also important to work on ways to stay calm. Whether it involves thinking happy thoughts, bringing along headphones, or by taking long deep breaths, it is advised that you develop multiple ways to keep yourself calm and level headed. If you fail to do so, you may regret your decision to fly for the rest of your life and that is something that shouldn?t have to happen.

Travel Tips - Miami International Airport

By Marco Baumann

Are you a Florida resident? If you are and you are looking to travel out of the country, you will need to find a Florida airport that is known as an international airport. International airports are airports that regularly have flights arriving from or going to an area outside of the Untied States. For Florida residents, particularly those in or around the Miami area, the Miami International Airport is the airport that they turn to when it comes to scheduling an out of the country trip.

Unlike most other airports, including other international airports, the Miami International Airport does business with over fifty airlines. That number of huge, especially when compared to other airports. Essentially, this means that wherever you are going and whenever you need to get there, the Miami International Airport should have what you are looking for.

Since there are over fifty airlines that partner with the Miami International Airport, you will find that their airport is large in size. This may pose a problem for you, especially if you have never visited the airport before. If this is the case, you will want to familiarize yourself with the airport?s layout or even print off a map. You can do this by visiting the online website of the Miami International Airport. These maps should also provide you with valuable information on airport parking arrangements.

With the recent focus on airfield security, you will find that the staff at the Miami International Airport requests that you arrive for your flight well in advance. This is especially important for international travelers or travelers who are unfamiliar with the airport. A simple wrong turn or a delay at an airfield security checkpoint could cause you to miss your flight, especially if you did not arrive at least two hours before your flight was scheduled to take off. Also, before arriving at the airport, it is important to make sure that you have all of the documents needed to travel on an international flight. These documents commonly include picture identification, a passport, or a visa.

If you are looking to pass the time, while inactivity for your flight, you will find that there are plenty of things to do at the Miami International Airport. The airfield is stocked full of retail stores, including clothing stores and gift shops. You can also find a large number of bars, restaurants, as well as other establishments. Due to the size of the airport, you will find that certain retail establishments are only acquirable in certain airfield terminal areas. However, all airfield terminals have a number of different eateries and retail stores for you to choose form.

Whether you are looking to check the status of your flight, learn more about airport security procedures, or learn more about international flights, you should be able to find what you are looking for on their online website.

Use Safety Precautions When Launching a Fixed-Keel Sailboat

By Scott H. Stewart

If your sailboat has a keel that pulls up, you might consider yourself lucky. This type of boat can be launched just like you would launch a regular motorboat. But if your sailboat has a fixed keel, it will take some detailed procedures. Remember, keep safety first! With a fixed keel, the trailer has to back down to the end of the ramp to get the boat into water deep enough to float and then be disconnected from the trailer. Your tow vehicle cannot back it down far enough without getting submerged. So you must follow a set of safe steps for your successful launch.

Ask yourself if you have the proper equipment to do the job safely. Is your tow truck at least a mid-sized SUV or pickup truck? It needs to be something fairly heavy. That weight is needed for your safety. You must balance all three parts, the truck, the trailer, and the boat.

Your tow vehicle must NOT be a front-wheel-drive type. Why? Because when the weight of the trailer presses down on the rear section of the tow vehicle, its front wheels lose traction. Some good choices of tow vehicles are rear wheel drive with manual 4-wheel drive option, all-wheel drive, or a 2-wheel drive as long as it is rear-wheel drive.

Of course you need safety accessories, namely rope and wheel chocks. You need a long, strong rope that is in very good condition. This will be used to let the trailer into the water, so the rope must be strong enough to bear the weight of the trailer plus your boat. Be sure it is thick enough and in good condition. Plan on replacing the rope each season if you boat often. You also need some quality wheel chocks with sturdy ropes attached so you can easily yank them out at just the right moment. Do not buy cheap equipment. If you have the money to invest in a boat, trailer, and tow vehicle, then you have the money to buy some quality tow rope and quality wheel chocks.

Here is the basic procedure for launching your fixed-keel sailboat:

1. The driver backs the trailer up to the water's edge.

2. The crew places the wheel chocks behind the trailer wheels.

3. Detach the tow vehicle from the trailer. Mount the trailer's spare tire at the front of the trailer. This step holds the trailer tongue up and allows it to move easily.

4. Attach the trailer to the tow vehicle with a long rope.

5. Pull the tow vehicle forward, away from the lake, until the rope is tight.

6. Remove the chocks from behind the wheels of the trailer and back up the tow vehicle until the boat and trailer are down in the water. As long as there are no sandbars to deal with, the tow vehicle driver should be able to easily back up until the boat floats, thereby freeing itself from the trailer.

7. Drive the tow vehicle forward until the trailer is out of the water. Chock the trailer wheels, then back the tow vehicle down to hitch the trailer back on.

If you encounter sandbars you are going to need some assistance. Look for a courtesy dock that might be running along side the ramp, and have your crew tie on some dock lines and pull the trailer and boat into the water. Or ask a power boat owner to assist and have them pull your trailer and boat deep enough into the water for you. I'm sure it won't take long to enlist the help of one of the many friendly boaters.

Keep safe and wear your life vest or life jacket. Alcohol and water don't mix, so leave the beers back at camp until the end of the day.

Go Go To Johnny B Good's in NY's Catskill Mountains

By LJ James

Over the years I have done a few stories on the New York Catskill Mountains and I have done a few stories about places I have enjoyed eating at. Well recently while I was once again up in the Catskill Mountains, I went to a 50's Thyme Diner called "Johnny B Good" located at 5806 RT 23 in the NY Town of Acra.

I was upstate in the Catskills Mountains at my Sister's for the Holidays. My Mother, My Niece and I where out checking out the area. After looking around a bunch of really cool antique stores in the Town of Catskill itself We where all getting Hungry.

Now as I have said before I love to eat! Now my Sister being my Sister well she too loves to eat and I had heard her and my Brother in Law mention Johnny B Good as a great place to eat more then once. So it was the place I wanted to check out!

As we arrived right off the bat I could see from the outside it really looked like an Old style 50's Diner. Now It seems these days everyone has a catch or a thyme to get you threw the door. So as good as the place looked from the outside, I was going to wait before I gave it a thumbs up. As we entered I could see they hadn't missed much with the 50's (and a little bit of the 60's) thyme on the inside. We sat down and started to look threw our menu's and order some food. As I looked though the Lunch and Dinner section of my menu I saw all the meals had names that helped to take you back. There where meals called the Peggy Sue Special , Jimmy Durrante Rueben , La Bamba Burger , Tarzan of the Jungle Salads and the Wimpy Burger (For Wimps) to name just a few. Now being a Biker I felt an obligation to order the Marlon Brando Mushroom Cheeseburger with Onion Rings.

While waiting for my food I started checking out the Breakfast Menu and found a few more Classic meal names like the Rita Hayworth Cheese Omelet , The Cisco Kid Chili Cheese Omelet, The Jolly Green Giant Veggie Omelet and I am going to have to go back to try some of their Hot Rod Pancakes!

I then got up and started to look around at all the great 50's Memorabilia Johnny B Good's had to offer hanging on the walls. There where of Course pictures of the King "Elvis", some old Movie poster's , Pictures of many of your favorite 50's stars, some Classic 45s, some of those old plastic circle things you used to have to put inside the 45's so you could play them on your turn table, (did those things have a name?) and even some old personal Pictures brought in by friends of the owner Bobbi.

I got to meet and speak with Bobbi the owner. I found her to be extremely Friendly. After just a few moments talking to her I could tell she really loves the place. There was no hiding the fact that she puts her heart and Soul into giving Johnny B Good that Nostalgic feel of a 50's hang out. It really is a place where everyone feels at home enjoying a meal with Friends.Bobbi told me during the Summer months Johnny B Good holds many Cruise Nights and many people from far and wide show up in Classic Cars and on Classic Motorcycles. They all hang out showing off their rides talking and eating! On a hot Summer Night both the young and old love to stop by and enjoy an Old fashion Style Ice Cream Soda or Root Beer Float .

Now as I have said before how a Restaurant makes you feel just being there does count for something, but when it comes right down to it the Bottom line is taste and there Bobbi and Johnny B Good's have the most important blast from the past down and this is good old fashion Quality and Taste.

I recommend you stop by Johnny B Good when you are out Cruising up in the Catskill Mountains! Just make sure to remember while in the Catskill Mountains taking this trip back in time at Johnny B Good's "Nobody puts Baby in a corner"!!!

Be sure to check them out on-line at Myspace.com/JohnnyBGood50

Staying Safe While Launching Your Fixed-Keel Sailboat

Do you have the proper equipment to do the job safely? Your tow truck needs to be at least a mid-sized SUV or pickup truck, something fairly heavy. That weight is needed for safety. It is essential to keep all sections balanced, the truck, the trailer, and the boat.

The tow vehicle must not be a front-wheel-drive type. That is because when the weight of the trailer presses down on the rear of the tow vehicle, the front wheels lose traction. Some good tow vehicles are rear wheel drive with manual 4-wheel drive option, all-wheel drive, or a rear-wheel 2-wheel drive.

Do not buy cheap equipment. If you have the money to invest in a boat, trailer, and tow vehicle, then you have the money to buy some quality tow rope and quality wheel chocks.

Follow these basic steps to safely launch a fixed-keel sailboat:

4. Tie a very long rope from the trailer to the tow vehicle.

5. Pull the tow vehicle forward, away from the lake, until the rope is tight.

6. Pull the chocks out from the trailer wheels and back up the tow vehicle until the trailer and boat are submerged. Unless there are sandbars, this should go smoothly and the boat will float, thus freeing itself from the trailer.

7. Drive the tow vehicle forward until the trailer is out of the water. Chock the trailer wheels, then back the tow vehicle down to hitch the trailer back on.

So what do you do if your boat ramp has not been maintained properly and you encounter those dreaded sandbars? You are probably going to need extra help. If there is a courtesy dock running beside the ramp, then your crew can tie on some dock lines and attempt to pull the trailer and boat into the water. If that doesn't work, you could call upon the brotherhood of the power boaters and enlist one of them to pull the trailer in deep enough for you! Most boaters are friendly folk and I'll bet someone will offer before you even get a chance to ask!

Wear a life vest or life jacket and stay safe. Leave the beer back at camp and stay safe all day.

How Do You Find A Toronto Boat Cruise For A Public Party?

By Amy Nutt

Toronto boat cruises offer some of the amazing parties and get-togethers that you can imagine. The themes of each of the public parties are varied, but with each type you are sure to have excellent food, top notch entertainment, an attentive crew and the opportunity to have more fun than your would have thought possible.

Nearly all of the Toronto cruise lines offer both public and private party booking options to meet the needs of any potential cruise go-er. Private parties can comprise corporate events, weddings or special occasions and the public parties are open to anyone whod like to make a reservation and can be either romantic dinner type outings or big, bold holiday extravaganzas.

How to Find the Cruise for You

There is a Toronto harbor cruise for almost any occasion that you can think of - if theres a party, you can bet that there is a public party cruise on the Toronto harbor to help celebrate it. There are cruise parties for Christmas, for Independence Day, for Halloween and for St Patricks Day - but some cruise lines have very limited occupancies for some of these cruises so its important that you find a cruise line that you think you would enjoy and to try to book your reservation early to ensure yourself a spot at the party.

There is any number of ways for you to find a public party cruise on the beautiful Toronto harbor - here are some of the best options:

The Internet

Regardless of what you are in the market for, the World Wide Web can most likely assist you in your efforts - a quick entry typed into a popular search engine will direct you to several of the cruise lines websites. This is usually the best option for people whove got access to a computer because you will be able to find out a lot about the company that offers the cruise from their website. Youll be able to find things out like: exactly what type of public cruises they offer, what the capacity for each is, what the dates and times available are, how much the party will cost you, what you need to do to book your space, etc.

By visiting the cruise lines website youll also be provided with visuals that can help you make your decision, youll be able to see photographs taken during the cruises and maybe even a short video that will put you on board of the actual ship in which the party would be taking place. Youll also probably be able to read a multitude of customer reviews and testimonials that may provide some assistance in deciding which cruise would be the most fun and entertaining for your or your group.

Travel Agents/Travel Websites

A local travel agent may very well have brochures available for you to take that will explain in detail all of the options of public party cruises from certain Toronto boat cruises lines. Youd also probably be able to get info from the travel agent as to how to get a better deal, if you were traveling into Toronto, on rental cars or hotel space.

A travel website (like Expedia or Travelocity) could probably help you put together a better package deal if you were coming in from out of town, and by visiting one of these sites you may be able to see some non-partisan or unbiased reviews from people who have no affiliation with one cruise line or another.

The Phone Book

If youre local to the Toronto area, you could simply look up the different cruise lines in your local phone book and speak to a customer service representative about what types of cruises are available. Youd also probably be able to get brochures and information sent directly to your home about the different packages that are available.

Using any or all of the options above will let you get all of the information that you need regarding booking your spot on a public party cruise on the Toronto harbor, and by trying all of the options (website, third party and direct contact) youre more likely to ensure that you get the best possible deal on one of the best and most entertaining excursions of your life.

Luxury Cruises - Travel On A Resort To Exciting Destinations

By Dorothy Yamich

A luxury cruise vacation can really enrich your life. Not only will you be traveling with like-minded people who love cruising, you will develop great, lasting friendships among your many cruising companions.

When you cruise you can travel to fabulous ports of call anywhere that cruise ships sail. Not only are there mega cruise liners which everyone is familiar with, there are a number of different sizes and types of ships. The medium, and particularly the smaller size cruise ships can navigate further up inland waterways to cities and historic landmarks where larger ships could never go.

The larger cruise ships generally have one or possibly two organized shore excursions at each port of call. If there are two sightseeing shore excursions scheduled the same day, one may happen early in the morning and the second one in the afternoon. Most shore excursions at take place in the morning normally get back to the ship in time for the people to dine on a fantastic lunch buffet.

Occasionally, on a second excursion, you may arrive back at your cruise ship late in the afternoon or early evening. This could possibly make you a bit late for dinner if you've been scheduled for the first sitting.

It is also your prerogative to explore the city, town, or island attractions and landmarks on your own. Please remember that it is your responsibility to get back on time or your cruise ship could sail without you. However, if you choose to book a shore excursion with the cruise ship, they will not sail until everyone is back on board.

Take advantage of the time that you have in a port by using it wisely. Some vacationers may want to disembark and go it alone by hiring a car and driver to take them to explore the sights. Usually the taxi drivers charge by the carload and not per person so if you want to save money you can split the cost with a few of your fellow passengers. If you can leave early in the morning you should be able to get back in time to enjoy the great lunch buffet.

When you cruise you should bring a detailed guide book or books that cover each of the destinations you know that you will be visiting. Even if the weather is less than optimal for your shore excursion, always take your camera as the weather, if inclement, can improve very quickly.

And don't judge a port by the dock and its surrounding area. It is usually a freighter loading and unloading area and the major warehouse and industrial district of a city or town. You may have to travel out of the port area and into the city or town to really see the unique tourist attractions and historical sites as well as experience the local culture.

What is the difference between a river cruise and a barge tour?

Although they have some similarities, there are differences between these two types of water sightseeing tours. Firstly, the ships that sail the rivers can handle approximately up to one hundred and eighty people, while barges usually can accommodate from five to twenty-five people. The second significant difference is that the river cruises can visit a number of countries and cities in a week, while barges traverse man-made canals from town to town and move at a much slower, leisurely pace, and can cover approximately only fifty miles in a week. Thirdly, river cruise ships have a restaurant, lounge, and entertainment, while the more intimate barges are essentially first-class, floating hotels, having a dining room and lounge as well as a sun deck. The most popular river cruises and barging tours are in Europe.

What is a luxury cruise tour land package?

A cruise tour land package is similar to a cruise that stops for half-day or full day shore excursions but gives you the best of both a luxury cruise and a land holiday combined in one. The main differences between the two is the land part of your vacation includes transportation by train or motor coach travel to a quality hotel accommodation at your inland destination. You will be accompanied by an expert tour guide for the land segment of your itinerary. These combo packages are generally longer, lasting from approximately ten days to three weeks or even a month or more. On most cruise land tours you can decide to take the land part of your holiday either before or after your cruise.

Besides Europe, you can book a cruise land tour for South America, Asia, Australia, Asia and the United States. Alaska is one of the most popular cruise tour destinations.

If you'd like to enjoy the best of both worlds - a fabulous dream cruise holiday and a land tour adventure - a luxury cruise tour is the utmost vacation experience.

The Best Deals for the Bahamas

Escape the Winter Blues with Bahamas Cruise Deals

I am not a winter person at all. I hate cold weather, I don't like skiing, skating, snowboarding or other winter sports, and I can't stand the dark, dreary days and lack of sunshine. As soon as the weather starts changing in November, I just feel like holing myself up in the house and not emerging again until March! Since that's not exactly a feasible plan for coping with the winter blues, I'm going to do the next best thing: look into Bahamas cruise deals and escape for a week of sun and fun.

Although I've never been to the islands before, I've heard that Nassau and Freeport are two of the top tourist destinations in that area -- and for good reason. In addition to miles of picturesque white, sandy beaches and sparkling blue waters, these cities are renowned for their exciting nightlife, impressive shopping districts, and other fun activities for singles and couples alike. All I have to do to reach these exotic locations is find affordable Bahamas cruise deals and book my vacation.

Actually, I wasn't even sure that I'd be able to find Bahamas cruise deals in my price range since I want to hit the islands during the peak travel season. I'm sure it's a lot cheaper to head down there in the summer, but what's the point of that when my goal is to escape the harsh winter weather? So I just crossed my fingers and hoped that there were at least a few websites offering cheap Bahamas cruise deals online.

As it turns out, I was indeed able to put together a decent package, though it took some extra e-mails and phone calls on my part in order to get everything just right. I first checked on the all-inclusive Bahamas cruise deals, and then compared prices with standard packages where airfare and meals were calculated separately. It turns out that the all-inclusive packages were cheaper for me -- but just barely. I have a feeling that if I lived a bit closer to the departure point, I would have been fine going with a standard package, so this is definitely something you should be aware of when you research Bahamas cruise deals.

Once I found a package that I liked, I made my reservation and paid a deposit with my credit card. After I pay the remainder of the balance, I'll be good to go and will be able to enjoy beautiful beaches and refreshing waves while everyone else around here is bundled up against the below-zero wind chill!

If you're looking to get away on a fabulous vacation sometime soon, be sure to check out the various Bahamas cruise deals that are available right now. The sooner you book your tickets, the sooner you'll be able to sail off into the sunset while leaving all your cares behind!

E-Ticketing for Asian Airline Tickets Reservation

By Jackie Silver

Marked down airfares are best in Asia! Instead of going online, it is much better to check them out through travel agents. Cheap international flights to Asia like in countries such as Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, India and some other part of the Middle East have discount airfares that any traveler can choose from so long they get the best deals from their own travel agents.

International online booking is not advisable around these places since the options are very limited.

I separate this article in two parts, international and domestic flight. First, lets talk about international flight. There is a lot of good web site around there, but you will need to do a lot of searches before you find what you really want. I suggest you to start by looking for the available airplane companies which deserve the concerned country you are flying to or from.

For sample, if you are in Indonesia and want to flight to Australia, you will most likely have to choose between Garuda and Quantas. There are possibilities to use other flights companies such as Malaysia Airlines or Singapore Airlines. But you will loose a lot of time during your trip as you will have to transit to this cities.

As you will see in the following article about domestic flight, Air Asia is one of my favorite when is about to flight in Indonesia. And this is also true when is to find the Asia Cheapest Flight as they deserve more than fifty cities in the region.

Better talk with a person rather than take chances with online process when you are getting discount fares for international flight destinations. Talking to a travel agent is way much better since you might get a chance to get more deals on open-ended tickets.

Having open-ended tickets means you can change your travel details such as adjusting your travel date or adding a stop en route. These tickets have nice benefits that can let you have cheap international flights to Asia that only you can obtain from your trusted travel agent. Besides, it is nice add to your plans stopping in India and of course the amazing Dubai.

This means that even if you cannot find cheap international flights to Asia, you can still avail of bargain prices on domestic flights between the cities of the same country. Some low cost carriers will also operate between Asian countries.

Turkish Airlines flight from Chicago to Pakistan via Istanbul lets you see Istanbul for free because of your earned frequent flyer miles. Since it is partners with American Airlines, you can just transfer your miles to your American Airlines Advantage account in case you will not be visiting Asia soon again.

Travel agencies have partnerships with airlines to give consumers more savings when choosing to fly via their carrier-partners. Loyalty to specific airlines lets you earn frequent flyer points giving you more savings on discount airfares.

Carp fishing Baits And Methods For bigger Catches!

By Tim Richardson

Stimulating your fish to feed makes them much easier to catch! The ways of doing this by leveraging the power of your bait has multiplied vastly in recent years, and many things have changed, leading to bigger catch results for many more anglers in the know...

Often when studying bait and why it works, scientific tests utilise baits of gelatine and casein, but natural food is not present in tests and this is very important because it shows how many variables exist in real life fishing! Carp are evolved to digest natural food items they have found in their environment for eons of time, but angling baits need to be designed to be not only most nutritionally beneficial and digestible, but most potently stimulating to feeding too. The energy and nutrient requirements of carp in regards to baits we exploit are vitally important to us anglers because these can really boost our short-term captures and multiply cumulative catch results over time very significantly.

Carp feeding stimulation involves many carp senses in a combined way; so why not exploit as many as possible to maximise our baits, after all; (baits do not merely work by exploiting nutritional stimulation but many other factors too!) We can take into account real life fishing variables such as the way carp exploit various natural food sources as the season progresses and this will impact on bait design and bait recipes, type of baits used and how they are applied on the hook and introduced as ground bait. When fish are very much orientated to feed upon natural organisms then this too can be exploited by good bait design, and we can exploit and manipulate the presence of natural organisms by using our bait to deliberately attract these too.

When I look back to my early carp fishing days of the 1970's I recall using a bucket of ground bait made from bread crumbs, perhaps cans of sweetcorn or luncheon meat or various special pastes, particle baits like wheat, pearl barley, hemp or live baits like worms or maggots. In the last 30 years carp fishing has exploded into a highly commercialised activity, and today introducing many kilograms of boilies, pellets or particle baits among others, all produce fish. Having seen someone catch a forty pound carp from a UK water, just ten minutes after introducing 20 kilograms of soluble pellets into his swim (done under suitable circumstances,) made me appreciate even more how heavy baiting can be truly decisive in many big and wary carp captures!

In the UK, there was a time a few decades ago when it was estimated that the majority of the fish weighing over twenty pounds existed in relatively few waters located in the North Kent area and having lived there myself, numerous villages there are certainly reminders of many famous carp waters from the 1970's and early 1980's period. Anglers starting carp fishing in the last 10 years certainly have great difficulty imagining just how much harder it was to catch fish of big twenty and upper thirty pounds going back even a couple of decades. Big carp existed in much smaller numbers in the UK and in only a relatively select handful of waters and this is why personal best fish of leading anglers in the 1970's and 1980's were so much smaller than those of today!

Not so long ago the capture of twenty carp of over twenty pounds in a season was a milestone few of even the top anglers had achieved. It is astounding to me today looking back, that you can catch twenty carp of around twenty pounds or over on certain UK waters in just a week or less; and this is very much due to the impact of the highly nutritional free baits applied by carp anglers over recent decades. Correct bait application is a massive edge which simply cannot be underestimated but is often extremely under-rated!

I recall catching 23 carp in 5 days averaging just less than twenty pounds, and topped by a mid-thirty from an Essex reservoir back in 1991. I know this type of result is very possible for anyone utilising good bait application on many UK waters today; especially now our UK carp stocks have grown on so much, especially during the last 20 or so years! If you understand more about bait and its application you can keep catching more when times are hard and also achieve outstanding results far more regularly, but avoid wasting expensive bait too!

In France and Spain, anglers I know have caught sixty fish over twenty pounds in just 3 days by good homemade bait design and application. High profile anglers like Terry Hearn, Julian Cardiff and Dave Lane understand the power of effective bait and its correct application. Its a proven fact that discovering more about bait generously pays you back big-time in both unseen and very obvious ways...

This part of the World stands out for its beautiful beaches, they happy people and the fun, and it is also the perfect setting for a honeymoon. And what better to live these exciting times than through a Caribbean honeymoon cruise.

The Caribbean is a group of islands - most of them are very little - but they are all prepared to welcome visitors from every part of the globe who want to enjoy the best of this part of the World, so you'll find all the benefits from other touristic places.

Tips for Affordable Honeymoon Cruises

By John Ledger

To spend your honeymoon aboard a honeymoon cruise is one of the best experiences you can live, yet people have the wrong idea that this type of travel is extremely expensive. As a matter of fact, you can find a cheap honeymoon cruise by keeping in mind this info.

To start, you should know that cruise lines offer for honeymooners special "packages" with gifts and extras. Each of these packages will have a different price according to the cruise line, so it would be a good idea to jot down prices and choose the less costly.

Sure, many of these honeymoon specials may look and sound great, but the reality is that in order to spend a romantic honeymoon, it depends on you more than in a bunch of gifts.

After that, you should start looking at economic packages. All cruise lines offer different packages for the journey, all of them include food and drinks (except alcohol). The choice is obvious: packages that are affordable and give a cheap honeymoon cruise experience.

As an example, you can opt to avoid dinner on the luxury restaurants inside the ship, and instead focus on the beauty of the sea, the breeze and the romantic moon. Choosing a package is great to control your budget.

If you want to spend time outside the room a lot of time and go to parties, you shouldn't spend too much money on the room. A basic deck room could be the perfect setting for passionate romance!

When choosing a destination, the best would be to go on a cruise that doesn't require you an extra cost. For example if you live in Florida it will be less expensive to choose a cruise that departs from there, instead of choosing a Mediterranean cruise.

To finish, if you want a cheap honeymoon cruise, I'd recommend you to travel during low season, as prices are greatly lowered. If you can travel at this time, you can also find last minute cruises.

A Mississippi Cruise To Remember

By Anthony Herbert

A Mississippi cruise is truly a wonderful experience. But to avoid the crowds, you can take advantage of a little known secret that will make your cruise a much more individual experience. Instead of booking a downriver cruse, take an upriver one, starting on the Mississippi Delta. You will be much less inconvenienced by fellow travelers.

Galveston, in Texas, is a great starting point for a Mississippi cruise. The city, which is built on an island, has a much higher proportion of German-Americans than the surrounding area due to immigration patterns, and is blessed with some wonderful and airy parks.

Galveston is blessed with several beaches, nice fishing spots in the surroundings, so before you go on that Mississippi cruise you can partake in local water sports. As for food, sea fare such as shrimp is very good, preferable to Tex Mex, which is more common in Texas's landlocked areas. As for sights, don't miss out on Moody Gardens, which includes a butterfly zoo, and extensive gardens.

Another, somewhat more common alternative, is to begin your Mississippi cruise in New Orleans. Don't let the threat of hurricanes put you off, in season this is a fantastic place to explore.

In effect, by starting or ending your Mississippi cruise in New Orleans you will be contributing to the city's recovery by spending your time and some of your tourist dollars there.

For visitors, the most interesting part of the city is the French Quarter. This is the area for strolling, people-watching, window shopping, and feeling the heat before leaving for a Mississippi cruise.

As for food, there are lots of superb options. If you fancy Oysters, visit the Acme Oyster Bar, which is near Canal Street. For a quick takeaway snack, get a muffaletta at a baker in the French Quarter. It's a sandwich made with olives, also prevalent on day Mississippi cruise outings

As for local specialties, Creole and Cajun cuisines are the staple in New Orleans and also common on a Mississippi cruise. You'll notice that they are pretty different approaches to food. Creole food is Europeanized in taste, and uses lots of wine, butter, thick sauces, enjoy pastries and is the backbone of local fancy dining.

Cajun cuisine is lighter than Creole, and it's also spicier due to African influences, and it features lots of exotic preparations such as alligator stew and turtle soup, all inspired by the availability of these meats in the delta. Prepare to be offered these recipes on your Mississippi cruise too!

Concerning your safety, make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen if you are leaving for your cruise in the summer and be especially vigilant for pickpockets in the town centers. You can relax your guard once you have boarded your Mississippi cruise.
