Take Your Next Gay Vacation To Uxmal

By Ricardo d Argence

On the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico you'll find Uxmal. This is an exciting and lovely place in the country of Mexico. If you are going to be in this area, then putting this on your trip itinerary is a great idea.

Uxmal is a historical and archaeological site that is not only quite old, but it is definitely quite interesting as well. It was way back in 700Ad when the city is thought to have been constructed, although some think that people began to inhabit the area around 800BC, which was about a thousand years before this area was actually built up.

Many people wonder why there wasn't a real settlement in this area earlier. Well, according to research no water was available in Uxmal, which is probably the reason this was the case.

There are many great reasons to take the time to visit Uxmal. All the attractions available are some of the main reasons. At 120 feet tall, you'll want to check out the Magicians Pyramid, which is far taller than any other buildings in the entire city. Enjoy getting to the top for the great view of Uxmal, and some great photos from up there.

Another great place to check out is the Nun's Quadrangle. This at one time was used for the military in the area. Check out the Governor's Palace as well, which is another exciting attraction you'll want to see.

Want to get the most out of your visit to Uxmal? Then take the time to spend a night here. If you do this you'll be able to avoid some of the big crowds so you can enjoy the area during off hours and have a great time. There won't be as many people out there and you can really get a great look at the place.

If you want to take pictures with a tripod in this area, you will need to have a permit. You'll also end up paying a fee if you want to use your video camera to get the sites and exciting memories on camera for the future.

When you go to the area, for comfort you'll want to make sure that you choose clothing that is proper. Make sure that you go with shoes that are comfortable for doing a lot of walking, and they should be non slip so you can climb as well. Usually you will want to dress in light clothing because the weather is humid and quite hot as well.

A variety of exciting archaeological spots you may want to visit in this area include some caves like Grutas de Lotun, Kabah, Sayil, Xlapak, Labna, and the Mayapan area. You'll enjoy these and others.

The weather in the area is always humid and hot. Dress for the weather. Wear light clothes and ensure you have sun screen on all the time. A hat can be helpful for avoiding sunburn too. Of course the warm weather is perfect for exploring the area. A lot of rain would make it difficult to enjoy all the scenery. So, enjoy being out in the sun and have a great time.

When you are in the area of Cancun, you just have to visit Uxmal. If you don't, you will never forgive yourself. This area is phenomenal in more ways than one. it is an experience of a lifetime, one that you absolutely cannot let slip!

Technology In The Palm Of Your Hand " GPS Handheld Receiver

By Alexis Kenne

Thanks to the relentless progress of today's technology, our standard of living has improved dramatically over the years. A perfect example of this is the introduction of GPS handheld receivers. In days gone by, the average person simply couldn't entertain the idea of exploring foreign lands for fear of getting lost. However, armed with a GPS handheld receiver, we can now safely explore any place we wish without ever having to worry about losing our way. Interestingly enough, the very first satellite navigation systems were already developed in the 1960s although at that point they were used solely by the military.

A handheld GPS receiver is a small device which looks like a wrist watch or a radio and is equipped with Global positioning system (GPS) technology. You can use these handheld GPS receivers for almost everything. You can use them for all kinds of sports like fishing, hunting, hiking, biking and a lot more. There are different handheld receivers for different uses such as a hunting handheld GPS receiver comes complete with compass and camouflage. These devices are quite lightweight and have all the modern functions like up to 2000 weight point storage, 10 to 50 retraceable paths and graphics for all the locations.

Though you can get a simple handheld GPS receiver to merely find your way home in about $100 there are many additional features available in many different handheld GPS receiver models like:

Map database; Voice activated GPS; WAAS technology, Reflection-less screen; Theft prevention functions; an option for personalized screen icons; MP3 capability.

So why would you need a handheld GPS receiver at all? Here are some of the reasons why it is a good idea and why people are using it:

1. If you are lost in a place you can do two things, either ask somebody the way or try to call some one to pick you up. However, if you are at a foreign place where no one speaks your language, then this device can tell you where you are and also give you the directions to your destination

2. If you are late for somewhere and you want to reach on time, you need to find the shortest and quickest route available. The handheld GPS receiver can help you to find the best and shortest route possible.

3. Lets assume that you have shifted to a new place and have an emergency where you need to go to a doctor. How do you do that? Where do you find a doctor? With the handheld GPS receiver, you can locate a doctor or even a gas pump if you need. You dont have to ask anyone.

4. This amazing gadget is a small portable device that can be carried anywhere. Hence with this you will never get lost. You can easily find your way back no matter what circuitous route you choose

5) Should an emergency take place while you and your family are traveling, searching for a suitable map can waste a huge amount of time, not too mention the fact that you may not be able to make sense of the map in the first place. In such a scenario, a GPS handheld receiver could quite literally be a life saver.

Hence with a handheld GPS receiver, you will always be safe wherever you go!

Business Travel Tips #3

By Gary Mooney

Business travel has actually increased considerably in the last decade as companies are able to sell more readily to markets all around the world; this is despite advances in information technology and communication. Business travel can be quite stressful, especially if you are new to working on the move. Business travel tips are useful to regular travelers by ensuring certain routines are carried out every time they travel to reduce the possibility of wasted trips.

Unfortunately, personal baggage goes missing from time to time and even if you are fortunate enough to have it returned, it may be too late for your meeting. So, wherever possible, pack as much as you can into your carry on luggage.

This means that even if your main luggage is lost your trip does not have to be wasted; your meeting can still take place despite any inconvenience that has been caused. When you do pack the main luggage, the clothes you won't be carrying on as hand luggage, make sure to pack only what you need for this trip.

To keep this simple just work out how many days you will be at your destination and pack accordingly, remembering to pack a few items of casual wear plus just enough pieces of footwear to last; this would be one pair for work and another pair for play. The remaining items to pack will be toilet essentials and any other work related documents that aren't important.

A little business travel tip that flight attendants use when they pack is to roll up their clothes, then place them into cylinders which compresses the clothing and reduces the number of creases. To go one step further, if you want to ensure that even if food or drink are spilled on your clothes you won't need them laundered; use dark colors which are also handy because creases don't show as much.

Another little trick that experienced travelers use is to carry hand and face wipes with them which can freshen your appearance in seconds without the need of a washroom. If you only intend to be away for a couple of days, a normal charge for a cell phone and other electronic equipment may be enough but if the trip is longer you may need to take chargers with you.

As it is possible to carry out work while you fly, by making the best use of this time you will be able to spend some time relaxing in the evening and perhaps a little site seeing. By following these few quick and handy tips you should find that you will not be on the back foot and no matter what happens during your travel on business, you should have a successful trip.

Business trips do not have to be boring and stressful if you apply the business travel tips in this article as they will allow you the opportunity to enjoy your free time even more.

Marine navigations and other boating endeavors use the star charts and the figures in longitude and latitude locations to determine the right directions before. But because of inaccuracy of information, marines needed more accurate device for navigation. When the GPS was launched, it was still further developed for even more useful functions. The marine GPS devices can receive signals of tides and storms that might harm the boat or marine vessel.

The maritime technology and the boating and fishing industries have benefited a lot from the marine GPS systems. The devices are easy to use and carry wherever you want to and use it for whatever reason you want to. There are some marine GPS that can do a lot of functions for your different needs and lots of the available devices can store as much destinations as needed in its memory. Manufacturers are still developing new improvements to suffice the needs of every one regarding the right global positioning.

Gay Travel Cancun, Swim with the Dolphins in Cancun

By Ricardo d Argence

I know you're more than ready for that getaway to gay paradise. You've got the tickets, you've packed your bags, and you've picked out your outfits for every night. But wait, there's one more thing you have to do. You have to read this article.

If you're the peaceful type, I think you should choose Puerto Vallarta. This Puerto is a small peaceful city that still has its old-style Mexican charm.

If you like all the clubs and going to flamboyant gay bards, you'll find Acapulco a great place to be, with many different gay cultures meeting in this area. This is essentially a place where gays go wild. If you like this idea, then going to Acapulco is a gay vacation idea that you'll want to try.

Of course before making that final decision, one more great gay destination that you'll want to consider is Cancun. This is one of the best places to go for the gay traveler, and you'll be sure to have a great time.

When you really want a great place to go on a gay vacation, Cancun is just one of the best options. The city is friendly to gays and lesbians, and treat everyone with friendliness and respect.

The people of Cancun are hospitable and very open-minded. And it doesn't hurt to know too, that they have a great nightlife with their top two gay bars, Karamba Bar and Picante Bar.

Nichupte Lagoon is a great place to visit in Cancun. This is a great destination that will show you the Aqua World Jungle Tour. This takes you to a great shallow reef that is great for going snorkeling, known as Punta Nizuc. Of course if you love history, you'll also want to enjoy Tulum, which is a great place where you can enjoy learning more about the history and the culture of Mexicans and Mayans. At one point in time Tulum was a center where maritime trade occurred and you'll notice this yet today.

Not to be left out in the fray is one of the gay hot spots in Cancun: their beaches. And the beach that stands out is Playa Delfines. This beach is easy to find as it is located at the southern end of the Hotel Zone, south of the Hilton. The beach is very popular as it is even tagged as the unofficial gay beach in Cancun.

And saving my best for last, one of the great attractions to do at Cancun is to be swimming with dolphins. These lovely creatures are familiar with man and get along very well with humans.

There is a lot of places to go if you really want to try this. At the Riviera Maya, you can have a real adventure with dolphins at Xcaret or Xel-Ha, two of the many dolphin sanctuaries.

The Parque Nizuc marine park also offers the participants a chance to swim with dolphins. There is another places where you can do it, like Aventura Spa Palace, Cancun Palace, Cozumel Palace and Isla Mujeres.

Decoding Boat Propeller Terminology

By Todd Alan

For someone who is new to the world of boat props, the terminology used in describing various types and parts of boat propellers can be quite confusing. Given below is a brief description about various terms that you might come across in trying to find yourself a suitable boat propeller.

The parts of a boat prop: The normal boat propeller is made of either three or four blades which surround the hub. The hub, in turn, connects the blades of the propeller to the engines drive shaft. The blades are angled in the way that enables them to screw through water, thereby moving the boat ahead. The leading edge refers to the end of the blade that cuts through water, and the opposite side is referred to as the trailing edge.

Spline: This refers to the teeth of the drive shaft which is not really a propeller part. The design of a hub allows it to fit a shaft in accordance to number of splines.

The features of a boat prop: Boat props are classified by their diameter and pitch, and this is often displayed as 2 numbers (in inches), such as 15.5 X 12. One can usually find this stamped on the props hub. The 1st number refers to the props diameter (which would be double the distance from the blades end to the hubs center). The 2nd number refers to the props pitch. The pitch refers to the distance that the propeller can theoretically travel through with every revolution. A prop with a 12 inch pitch could travel around 1 foot with a single revolution. Pitch is often looked upon as a theoretical figure because a prop pitch can experience slips in varied real world scenarios. A slip refers to the difference in ratio between the actual distance that is traveled and the props given pitch. This slip can be varied under similar conditions, an example being that an efficiently planned boat could experience only a 10 percent slip, where as a heavy work boat could experience as much as 80 percent slip.

Rotation of a propeller can be right or left hand, and most boat propellers come with right hand rotation. Left handed rotation is generally found aboard boats that require heavy steering wherein the motors torque is countered using double engines.

A cupped blade is used to describe blades that have undergone special treatment wherein the trailing edges are curved. This is known to elevate performance levels in specific scenarios.

The rake is used to refer to the angle created by the blade and the hub. A negative rake would indicate that the props blades point forward and this is normally done for adding strength.

In buying a new propeller, it is essential that you make a list of your engines specifications such as its make, brand, model, horse power, etc; and also the specifications of your existing prop including the material it is made of, its diameter, its pitch, the number of blades it has, etc. With these details taken care, you can well be on your way to get yourself a new boat prop.

Business Travel Tips

By Gary Mooney

Most company's customer base has become more 'global' in recent years and as a consequence many business people have to travel more widely; with the global popularity of the Internet, even tiny companies can compete, and have customers anywhere. This is putting an increasing strain on business travelers who often become stressed and fatigued at the constant need to be in another part of the world. Business travel tips are useful to regular travelers by ensuring certain routines are carried out every time they travel to reduce the possibility of wasted trips.

One situation that you will not be able to avoid at some point if you take enough trips is that of lost luggage which can be a real problem if your baggage contains information relevant to your trip. To reduce the chance of a wasted journey, always carry anything that is relevant to your trip in your hand luggage.

This makes a great deal of sense because you are covered should your main luggage go missing then your meeting can still go ahead and hopefully your main luggage will be located in due course. Regular travelers know that the main business travel tip when packing is to keep things simple by only including exactly what you need for the journey and that way you won't go far wrong if luggage goes missing.

To keep this simple just work out how many days you will be at your destination and pack accordingly, remembering to pack a few items of casual wear plus just enough pieces of footwear to last; this would be one pair for work and another pair for play. All that is left once this is done is to include your toiletries and other business documentation that may be of use.

A way to save space and possibly take a smaller bag plus reduce any creases is to roll clothing up which takes up less room and a business travel tip well worth noting. If you carry dark clothing with you it can help if anything is spilt on them as it is harder to see stains on dark clothes.

Of course if you are working to a tight schedule and the inevitable delay happens then you want to know you can attend a meeting at a moments notice and the way to freshen up is by using those hand and face wipes that come in travel packs. If you only intend to be away for a couple of days, a normal charge for a cell phone and other electronic equipment may be enough but if the trip is longer you may need to take chargers with you.

There is nothing worse than sitting in a hotel room at night working when you could be out exploring the city you are in so make use of the flight time and try to get important preparation work done then. Regular business travelers make these preparations before every trip to ensure the business side of it goes without a hitch.

Business trips do not have to be boring and stressful if you apply the business travel tips in this article as they will allow you the opportunity to enjoy your free time even more.

My Favorite Fishing Trip

By Derek Gatehouse

Over the years I have written many an article about fishing to be sure. And, although this one is clearly my personal favorite, I'm not sure it's really about fishing at all.

You see, this was a great trip not because of weather or location or the many fish we caught. This was a great trip because of my companion; my eldest son. And it may well have been our last trip together.

I can still see his face when he caught his first perch at age five; smiling ear to ear while hiding the nervousness of what he might have to do about a very squirmy fish on his hook.

And now he is his own man, and a fine one at that. There are a million things a 21 year old could be doing instead of sitting in a boat with the old man, but I was grateful he didn't see it that way. If this was indeed to be our last trip together, I couldn't have asked for a better time. We seem to change out there on the lake, our fast paced life far behind us. We weren't even father and son, just two guys enjoying a slower pace, beautiful nature, and good conversation.

We seemed to be able to talk about things we never would at home. Things like his plan to make movies and his desire to move away from the cold climate. His secret desire to leave school and travel for a while. And I just listened. I didn't judge or advise (much). With the belief that this was likely our last trip, I just enjoyed watching him.

It's funny how fishing and time distort each other. For me time just stops out on the water. The "real" world disappears. There's only that moment, and I wished I could freeze the moment forever.

What a cruel joke of nature that our principal job with our kids is also the toughest one: to let them go. To teach them to be self sufficient and well adjusted, and then let them fly away. My wife and I are so happy that we learned early on to stop and appreciate the "moment" as they happen. Time really does pass too quickly.

And when he caught that perch on our last day, we glanced at each other. A nod to the past perhaps, but also to what seems to be a new life chapter and our new roles within it. Oh, and I'm happy to report that he still smiles ear to ear when he catches a perch.

This may not have been our last fishing trip together. But if it was I am terribly grateful we did it. It is a new chapter in his life--in our lives--and, although bittersweet, I am so glad we pulled off this last minute trip together.

So if you're lucky enough to fish with your kids, remember to cherish the moments. Teach them, yes, but just sit and watch them too. Time does not, as it turns out, stop out there on the lake.

Being on a Cruise Ship on a Budget

By Amanda Gamdana

Many people and their families would like to go on vacation but there are just as many who lack the money and if they can go on vacation many times it is just to visit to an amusement park, or possibly campgrounds. But if you'd like to experience a better vacation such as one on a cruise liner then you should not to limit yourself too much.

If you want to take a cruise but think that you cannot then you shouldn't give up simply because of that setback since it could keep you from enjoying the vacation that you want and more than likely deserve. To make a cruise ship vacation possible for you and your family, you just need to budget.

For most, working with a family budget is only a small sacrifice, but for others it may be larger making saving for a cruise that much harder. The first thing you do to save money for your cruise ship getaway is to determine where all of your money is going which can be done by documenting your spending habits. Everything from the mortgage payment, rent, car insurance, and that can of pop you got out of the machine in front of the store needs to be written down.

After you write down your spending habits for the week you will have to examine your findings as at this point, many individuals are surprised to learn what they're actually spending on unnecessary purchases. These often include but aren't limited to single serve beverages, cigarettes, alcohol, and dining out.

To save money for your cruise ship vacation, you will need to cut all unneeded purchases which may look easy at first glance but in reality it usually is not. There are some individuals who cannot do without their cigarettes or a morning cup of java. If you cannot cut back on your habit of excess spending you are encouraged to change them as much as possible so for example instead of getting a cup of coffee from the gas station every day you can brew your own at home. Additional alterations can be made to keep your spending habits from taking away from your vacation funds.

When setting back money for a vacation on board a cruise ships make sure that you actually save the money. A lot of the time people will take the money they saved by using their budget and wasting it on something than what they originally intended. If you find it difficult actually saving money you may want to open a savings account at a bank and while the interest adds to your savings you are less likely to spend the money because it's been put way.

Curbing your spending habits is the best way to raise money to take your dream vacation and though saving your money is important it is not the only way that you can make your plans while working within a budget. There are many online travel guides which may offer you significant deals and savings too, while other cruise discounts can be acquired through membership clubs or your local travel agent.

Getting the finances that you require for your dream vacation might seem hard at first but in time it may become a part of your daily routine. Saving and finding discounts for your dream vacation are excellent methods to get the money you need but together they can save you more money than you expected.

Cuba Holidays. Where to go

By Jose M. Garces

Never have Cuba holidays been so popular among holiday makers until recent years, especially after its government opened its doors to tourism and foreign investment. For some this amazing Caribbean island is a must in the agenda of most interesting places in the world.

Cuba being the largest of the Caribbean Island it is favourite over other Caribbean destinations. The fact is that there is so much to do and see that even 2 week holidays are not enough to get to know the Island.

Lets look at places like Varadero, Jibacoa, Guardalavaca, cayo Coco, Cayo Largo, Cayo Santa Maria and so many other beach destinations with white sandy beaches and turquoise color waters. To chose among all of them could be a difficult task. Some places like Varadero are better in terms of infrastructure and things you can do out side your hotel while the rest are more for the purpose of pure relaxation.

Vi?ales Valley located in Pinar del Rio province enjoys by far the most astonishing landscapes of Cuba. It is also famous for its tobacco plantations responsible for the best cigars in the World.

Trinidad de Cuba one of the most charming colonial villages in Cuba dates back from the 17th Century. Today Trinidad is considered a World Heritage Site definitely worth visiting.

Havana has to be my favourite place. Not only was I born in Havana and know it quite well, I can say with confidence that I have walked every corner of this amazing City. You have to visit Havana if you really want to feel you have been to Cuba. I particularly recommend the Old Town area to stay and the night clubs of Vedado neighborhood.

For history lovers and thouse wanting to get to know the real Caribbean culture there is no better place than Santiago the Cuba. With a very rich cultural heritage Santiago de Cuba is the best place to enjoy a Cuban Carnival which takes place around the 26th of July every year.

Things might change in Cuba pretty soon and there is so much to see before it happens. My recommendation is not to delay your plans to travel to Cuba or you might miss the last 50 years of history and culture.

Gay Travel Recommendations: Xcaret

By Ricardo d Argence

Lesbian and gay travelers enjoy the Cancun area while vacationing. Cancun is one of the most popular destinations on the itinerary of gay traveling. They come to enjoy the area, whether for the hot tropical beaches with its friendly people or the rainbow friendly nightlife.

Anybody traveling to Cancun would be remiss in missing out on Xcaret, pronounced Eesh Kar Et. This is a type of amusement park, but likely unlike any amusement park that you have been to in your life.

There are no steel dragons or chains, no forty story drops or thrill rides; just nature oriented adventures that attract people of all ages.

What can you do at Xcaret? It would be easier to tell you what you cannot do at Xcaret. Although this is a great beach hang out, you can do that just about anywhere.

Here you can actively participate in the Xcaret adventure with helmet diving, scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming with the native dolphins. Xcaret features their infamous underground river that offers you the opportunity to snorkel in a new and unique way.

You will enjoy visiting the Xcaret coral reef aquarium and zoo exhibits, especially if you love to sightsee. This is one of the best locations for connecting with and learning about nature.

Jaguars, monkey, sea turtles, manatees, flamingos...these are just a few of the many different things that can be seen at Xcaret.

When you want to immerse yourself in the Mexican culture, there are various exhibits associated with riding and roping by Mexican cowboys and cowgirls. You can visit replicas of Mayan villages, traditional Mexican tombs and a wine cellar full of vintage Mexican wines.

For those who love the Mexican food in Cancun, they won't be disappointed with what Xcaret has to offer with its 11 dining rooms. Authentic Mexican fare can be found at each of these 11 restaurants, some of them famous for their more interesting and less traditional fare, such as fried crickets.

Admission to Xcaret is not cheap, but it is great for a day of adventure. Basic admission for adults is about $69 and basic admission for kids is about $35 for children.

The Xcaret lies along the 40 miles of Cancun coastline. It offers lesbian and gay travelers and their families a wonderful place to hang out, while more than likely meeting up with members of the rainbow family is very possible.

How to Clean Your Shimano Fishing Reel

By Derek Gatehouse

Cleaning your reel is important I'm afraid, if you want it to last, and to continue to perform. And nothing is worse than hooking that big one, only to have problems with your rod or reel. Not to mention it'll last a lot longer if you clean it once in a while!

You're reel really only needs cleaning once or twice a year--twice if you're in salt water often. Reel cleaning is not difficult but you do need to do it right. Let us begin with the tools required:

* a towel

* one small screw driver (generally a Phillips head)

* one small bottle of grease. Do not use WD-40; WD-40 often leaves residue which can attract dirt. Instead, use a high quality grease meant for reels)

* some Q-tips

* a couple of paper towels

First, remove the reel from the rod. Use a couple of paper towels to wipe it off completely.

Next you'll need to remove the handle of your reel. It is generally removed one of two possible ways. There will either be some sort of screw in the handle, or you simply hold the reel in one hand and turn the handle backwards with your other hand. Set the handle down on a clean towel.

Now make sure that the reel is lying in such a way that the screws that hold it together are exposed. Then remove these screws (usually there are between three and five) and place them next to the handle. This should expose a small plate which can now be removed. Remove that plate and put it next to your screws.

You should now see inside the reel. Clean any dirt you see in the reel with one of the Q-tips. Next, put a few drops of your reel grease on each of the gears.

Note: More is not necessarily better here! Too much grease will clog everything up. You really only need a tiny bit of reel grease to do the job properly.

To reassemble, simply reverse the above process. Put the plate back into place and screw in the screws. Before reattaching the handle though, add some grease to it as well. Finally, re-install the handle.

How to Find Airfare at a Discount

By sapibontv

People love to travel to various locations around the world. For example, a hot spot every year is the "Great Wall of China." A lot of history is built into that place, and many love to walk or see that amazing sight. Besides that, many others want to travel at a great price, and not have to pay too much because it can become expensive if a person does not do their research ahead of time.

The utmost cheapest and best way to get the most out of airfare is to go to the airlines website. When individuals call on the phone, or go through other websites, that can cause many troubles or difficulties. For example, the prices for American Airlines or Southwest may become $50 to $100 more than going through the actual airline website. People want to get the most of out of their airline experience, but do not want to pay too much.

Another route to recieving a great deal is to get a membership card through a favorite airline. When this happens through flying through them, individuals can recieve a discount on their next flight. This is the case because people want to fly again and again with them, and the airlines do not want to lose customers because in the long term, they lose money, and that is detrimental to any company. For example, Airtran Airways does membership cards, and through that people recieve a discount at an affordable price.

The last way to save money is to buy a credit card. Now before doing this make sure good credit is already established, and make an extra point to pay everytihng in full, otherwise it will become more and more difficult to pay it off. These are used to get frequent flyer miles, and individuals can recieve a huge discount at a price they can afford.

Most people want a discount at a wonderful price they can afford. However, many individuals will not pay more than $400, if they can help it because of how expensive it can become. These people are looking for ways to get a discount, and three ways are possible to make it happen. One, go to the actual airline website. Two, get a membership card through the actual airline. Three, apply for a credit card, but pay off everything in full, and make sure credit is good before going for it. Remember to shop early too before flying.

Cancun, a Gay Travel Guide and Tips

By Ricardo d Argence

If you are going to Cancun on vacation, you are definitely going to enjoy it. Of course getting ready is important, so take a look at the time and money you have. You have options to cruise there or to fly to the area. Planning on going with a friend? Make sure you come up with limitations and then plan away.

Usually a cruise to Cancun will either leave from Galveston or Miami. Usually the ships are going to leave for Cancun in the evening time. Most of the ships that leave from the western area of the U.S. will end up taking you to Mexican Riviera.

If flying is the option you have chosen, you may be able to save by booking your flight and a hotel together. If you do decide to go with a travel agent for your trip plans, ensure that they let you know everything that is included in the vacation you are paying for.

Be certain whether your destination is Cancun Playa del Carmen or Cancun Calica. Playa del Carmen is a beach town with tours to ruins and a biosphere reserve, with tropical forests and habitat preserves. Calica features white sand beaches and a lively night life, as well as tours to ancient Mayan ruins or a nature park.

Of course take sunscreen with you. Since you'll probably end up in the water while you are vacationing in Cancun, it's probably a good idea to go with sunscreen that is waterproof.

Call your cell phone service provider to find out how much you will pay in roaming charges when you are in Mexico. If you want to keep in touch with the office or with family, you need a cost guideline.

When you take money, make sure it is mostly in travelers checks. Usually people are great to go with American money. However, if you cash in for pesos, make sure you do it at a bank. Ensure you carry the theft info in a different area from the checks in case they do get stolen. It is best to have theft protection on credit cards too. Ensure you don't tear your pesos and don't take any that are torn, since they won't be good anymore.

You should be tipping your night club service, wait service, and the hotel staff. Usually ten to fifteen percent is a good rule of thumb.

If you get a cab, make sure that you let them know where you want to go and then come to an agreement on the price before you take off. Cabbies don't expect to get a tip.

When you are walking to your destination, never go by yourself. Remember, pedestrians in Mexico are not given the right of way, so be very careful.

Talk to the staff at the hotel you are staying at for some recommendations of areas to check out. If you enjoy gay night life, then check out the night club Karamba.

It doesn't matter how you plan to travel, ensure you check into any restrictions on your luggage. This can include restrictions on size, pieces to carry, and the weight of the luggage. It's a good idea to find out about boarding restrictions that may be imposed as well. Great vacations are planned well. Have a great time getting the trip together and then everything will go smoothly for you while you are on your vacation.

Mexico and it's Gay Friendly Places to Travel

By Ricardo d Argence

When you think about Mexican culture, what do you think of? More than likely, you think of a culture of machismo and the traditional values of the Catholic Church. While all of this is also true, Mexico is a modern society and as in the US and other Western countries, homosexuality is accepted in Mexican society.

Mexico City and the state of Coahuila already provide civil unions to same sex couples, while the states of Jalisco, Colima, Guerrero, Veracruz, Puebla and Michoacan are close to doing the same.

It seems Mexico is a more progressive country than you may have thought! This is not to say that many gays and lesbians are not in the closet in Mexico. Despite broad acceptance, many homosexuals still prefer to keep their preferences a secret.

One cultural difference between the US and Mexico is that Mexicans generally keep their private lives a little more private than we tend to in our country. However, Mexico is a very welcoming place for gay travelers, which led Planetout out to name Mexico as their 2007 travel destination of the year.

Mexico offers a lot of wonderful places for gay tourists to visit. The following cities are the top gay travel destinations in the country.

Cancun. Cancun has pulled ahead of Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta to become the top destination for gay tourists. Cancun is best known as a popular place for college students on spring break, but is a popular destination for gay and lesbian tourists year round.

Cancun is located in the subtropical climes of Quintana Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula. The temperature in Cancun averages 81 to 95 degrees, perfect weather for beach going and relaxing all year. Cancun has an active gay scene and a lot of nightlife going on downtown, a mere 15 minutes from the Zona Hotelera.

There is the Karamba, this place is popular for a mix, young international crowd for the last thirty years. There's also the Picante, the crowd that this place is popular for is, straights, gays, drag queens, transvestites.

Villas Tacul is Cancun's gay-oriented beach, but the Playa Delfines is more popular, being the city's largest beach. Most of Cancun's more than 100 hotels are gay friendly, so there's always a great place to stay.

Mexico City. The largest city in the country (one of the largest cities in the world, as it happens), Mexico City is a liberal place with a large community of gay and lesbian residents. Mexico City has even legalized civil unions for same sex couples. With a lot of gay culture and nightlife to offer, including gay theater, an annual parade and a large number of clubs, the city is a natural choice for gay and lesbian tourists.

Guadalajara. The second largest Mexican city also has a large homosexual population, including a large lesbian community. The city has a gay cultural center and a widely popular gay radio show. Guadalajara has really large population of lesbians. For entertainment there are gay bars, and about two dozen gay clubs located mostly in the Zona Rosa. And then there is the Annual Gay Pride Parade.

There is a long list of gay bars and clubs. But here is just a couple. The Angel's bar that plays electronica. Monica's Disco plays Latin rhythm disco. To locate other clubs and bars for a bit of nightlife look for La Guia Rosa or Zona Gay.

Gay Travel Guide Cancun, Playa Delfines

By Ricardo d Argence

If you really think about it, I think Mexico is the best and the most famous destination for gay vacationers. And a big reason why Mexico is the undoubtedly best destination for gay travelers is Cancun. And a big reason why it's Cancun, is because of the beaches. Why the beaches? Two words: Playa Delfines, Why so? Well, let this little gay travel guide article tell you exactly why.

It is Cancun because of the special warmth it welcomes the gay and lesbian crowd. They have really retained that atmosphere with its friendly and liberal populace. Add to that are the excellent public transportation and its grandiose all-inclusive resorts.

Cancun is also known for the fabulous nightlife and the gay bars, Karamba and Picante prove this. The Karamba is the largest gay disco while the Picante is the oldest.

Cancun also has great restaurants. Let me recommend to you Perico, Labna, La Pasteleteria-Creperia and La Parilla. In Perico, it is always a party night there. While in Labna, you will get a taste of the traditional gourmet cuisine and La Pasteleteria-Creperia is a small and intimate downtown cafe whose creamy and tasty crepes will make your mouth water.

Then, of course, there's La parilla where, you enter a non-believer in Cancun food and will leave a fervent devotee to it. I kid you not, you will get hooked to its delectable Cancun food and to its pleasant and earthy ambiance.

Cancun is able to provide the best accommodations thanks to the many lavish hotels that are the Ritz-Carlton, springing up all over the place. You can book reservations at the Villas Tacul Boutique Hotel, Hyatt Cancun Caribe or the Melia Cancun. These lavish hotels will quickly become your temporary heavenly abode. There will be no need to worry about reaching your hotel once your plane lands at the airport.

The taxi drivers know most places by name and have a wealth of knowledge about the ins and outs of Cancun. You will have no worries about reaching your hotel safely, thanks to the friendly people of Cancun.

Cancun also offers history too. While there, you can check the Mayan ruins at Ruinas del Ray and Yamil Lu'um which are both located in the Zone Hotelera. But with all of that nothing beats the beaches in Cancun. Why so? Well, their beautiful strips of white sand beaches that are located at the Yucatan coast says so. If you don't believe me, then just check them out.

One of their great swimming beaches is the Playa Chac Mool. It's a great place for families during the day but come night time, the rocky areas become a bit wild. Then there is Playa Langosta. This beach has got calm waves and ideal for families and party people. It's a good choice to have you skin tanned or just swimming in its gentle waters. But with all that, I think nothing beats Playa Delfines.

Playa Delfines has become very popular with both singles and gay couples. It has become known as the unofficial gay beach in the city of Cancun. Take a look at the grassy slope that leads to the beach and you will quickly understand. Not only is the beach a great place for surfing, sunning and anything in between, but you will see that its not just the sun thats sizzling hot.

You will undoubtedly be able to locate some hotties that will preoccupy you during you stay. If you are interested in visiting Play Delfines, you should know where its located. It is located south of the Hilton at the southern end of the Hotel Zone. Its very easy to find.

Hopefully this article became a gay travel guide that you found helpful. Visit Playa Delfines to catch some fun, sun, sand and plenty of sultry hotties while visiting Cancun.

This is why all natural attributes to this area are so magnificently beautiful, they come from thousands of years ago. Some believe this, while others choose to think of it as nothing more than a myth.

There are different fees that need to be paid in order to gain access into the park, but it is not expensive and it differs. Children pay less than adults. It is worth any amount you have to pay. The sites you get to see once inside are amazing and you will not be sorry that you came all this way.

How A Mississippi Cruise Critic Can Guide You In Your Choice

By Anthony Herbert

When looking for that perfect Mississippi cruise, there are all sorts of reviews covering the various options, including those given by professional cruise critics. Specialized critics give an exceptional viewpoint on cruises that you cannot get by reading customer reviews. You can learn a lot by reading their opinions.

Professional critics explain all aspects of every Mississippi cruise. They talk about embarking onto the boat and of all the steps you have to go through to get that done. This information will not only give you an idea of how good a specific ship does at accomplishing the boarding. It will also tell you what to look forward to when it is your time to board a cruise ship.

Accommodation is one of the things that a Mississippi cruise critic would usually concentrate on a lot in its review of a multi-day cruise. Here you can find out about the spaciousness of the cabins, the quality of the bedding and the fittings of the bathrooms.

Even if you decide not to book a specific trip as described by a Mississippi cruise critic, reading it will still be very instructive as it will allow you to check on what kinds of amenities are considered normal and usual for a certain kind of travel package.

One of the things that you will be able to glean from the review of a Mississippi cruise critic is the kind of tipping that is to be expected on a specific cruise. This is very much dependent on the level of luxury but there are other factors too, and reading a good review will allow you to avoid over-tipping.

After reading a critic's review, you may end up choosing another ship. Also, you may find out that you have the option of paying your tips upfront so you do not have to worry about them later.

Another thing that you will get a lot of information about when reading the comment of a Mississippi cruise critic is the quality and abundance of food served on board. You will be able to sample your way through a cruise's menu even before having set foot on to the boat.

Also, the different sightseeing trips offered by the travel organizers will have no more secrets for you. Your Mississippi cruise critic will participate in several, if not all, of them, giving you an autonomous view on their merits and demerits.

Trips to the shore and other sightseeing is usually commented upon by Mississippi cruise critics as well, so you will be able to decide in advance whether an optional excursion offered at extra cost is worth your time or not.

Mississippi cruise critics can truly be a great help when it comes to choosing the right cruise, and they may just mean the difference between you getting onto a badly managed wreck of a boat or enjoying the Mississippi cruise of your lifetime.

The Caribbean Island Cruise Tips

By Lindelwa Laz

Once the province of the rich, cruises have changed and Caribbean cruises are fast becoming the most popular of destinations. You can have everything you want with a different Caribbean island every day and all the wonderful evening entertainment of a resort on board the cruise liner. While short breaks are available, perhaps over a weekend period, the vast majority of passengers sail for seven days and sometimes in excess of fourteen but depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Sailing is an excellent way to enjoy yourself and this includes a person who just wants to send all day on board enjoying the entertainment to someone who can't wait to explore all the new sights. Don't think for one moment that there will not be enough to occupy you as cruise liners are the equivalent of floating vacation resorts that have a different view every day.

Before making the trip, it is wise to find out more, so go to your nearest travel agent to find the right package, but you can also find comments and reviews online. Don't forget that there are a large number of Caribbean islands so cruise liners have a arranged packages which reflect certain island themes as they cannot visit every island in such a short space of time.

If your ideal cruise vacation includes partying by the beach or the deck pool, even at a disco well then choose a cruise with plenty of activities. Some Caribbean cruise liner companies actually produce virtual tours and other information on DVD's which can be collected from your travel agent or ordered online.

Remember that a vacation on board a ship allows you more opportunity to dress up as there are more functions than you are probably used too. For formal evenings and events a gown is necessary for women and tuxedo for men so that you can be seen in your finest and something you need to be prepared for especially if you are invited to the Captains table.

The great thing about cruise vacations is that if you take your children along you can be sure they will have a fun filled time. There will be probably more for your children to do than at a standard resort, in fact you probably won't see them much during the day.

For those of you that would prefer a child free vacation, that too is available so you can cruise around the Caribbean islands without having to worry about children. There is no end to what you can actually request on your cruise liner vacation so if you have just got married or are celebrating your fiftieth wedding anniversary, something special can be arranged.

If you let the staff on your Caribbean cruise do their job, all you will have to do is enjoy the vacation, after all isn't that what it's all about.

Before boarding you may have to show proper identification and with an international cruise identification can include a passport, as well as a driver's license.

Unfortunately, when it comes to obtaining a passport, there are many individuals wait for the last minute and even though last minute passports can be acquired during emergencies most of the time you'll need at least a week to complete the process. you won't just be given a passport, but you can apply for one and even though most people that apply for a passport are supplied with one planning ahead is still a good idea. Good Times with Old Town Kayaks

By Toby Johns

For thousands of years, we've learned to forge our way across the waters as a means of travel. Since the 21st century began, so too has Old Town kayaks, and they've been fashioning kayaks since 1940. Taking the original inspiration from Native Americans' canoes, Old Towne began making kayaks with sealskin design, along with wood and canvas materials.

In the 1950's, Old Town began making their kayaks out of lightweight fiberglass. Now, as we enter into more modern times and contemporary technologies, Old Town produces their kayaks using durable PolyLink3 and SuperLink3. But with all these choices and styles, how can a person figure out which kayak is right for them?

Kayaks are different than canoes, as they allow you to easily maneuver yourself in the water with double bladed paddles. You can travel faster and closer to the water for better stability. When you are thinking of your purchase, have in mind what you are to use the kayak for. The size, weight, cockpit, capacity and materials will all be important to your final decision as well.

If you're interested only in recreational kayaks, you will be delighted to know that so many styles, designs and choices exist. These models are very user-friendly and are ready to shove off into the water at a moment's notice. In addition, day touring kayak models have great tracking capabilities and they're stable and highly-efficient to boot. Some kayaks even provide open cockpits that allow kayakers to quickly and easily enter and exit their kayaks. Both sportsmen and families alike will find much enjoyment in their use of day touring kayak models.

If there are two of you preparing for to kayak, you may wish to consider a tandem model. Tandem kayaks are great for couples, and are very suitable for all kinds of bodies of water. Fishing kayaks are lightweight, stable, and have features that enhance the experience of fishing and kayaking simultaneously. Both models have the same type of construction, such as shock cord deck riggings, cockpits, deck hatches and handles for carrying.

Constructed in Maine, Old Town kayaks are manufactured by a company that fully cares about producing kayaks that fit everyone's taste and style. While shorter kayaks tend to be lighter and have greater maneuverability, longer kayaks provide a pleasurable experience in cruising and travel in open water. Longer kayaks are also preferred over shorter kayaks for overnighters and day trips. Wider boats are ideal for photographers and fishermen becuase they provide a more stable experience. Narrow boats are preferable for those planning on farther excursions. When considering the purchase of Old Town kayaks for sale, also be sure to check out the bottom layer of the boat, which is also an important component to consider.

Flat bottom kayaks will add comfort to your journey through calm waters. Shallow arch bottoms will work well in choppy waters. When you need to improve tracking over the waters, the V-bottom may be the choice for you. Kayaks will vary with the sides that are built, as well. When the sides have curved inward, you have found yourself a tumblehome design. This design forms a narrow kayak. Flared sides will allow the kayak to withstand sitting deeper in the water. Materials for Old Town kayaks include 100% recycled plastic, polyethylene and a variable layer boat.

A few samples of models manufactured in Old Town, Maine include the Digio 106 Angler. This model lies low in the water for the fishermen to navigate through the water in silence. Rod holders are included. Another angler is the Vapor 12xt with day wells, storage for iPods and your GPS. You can travel anywhere in this model! The Cayuga and Adventure series are great for day tours. They are both set up with features that make them wonderful choices for overnighters.

Old Town kayaks have been around for decades and plan on lasting well into the new century. Priding themselves on their understanding of the native peoples craftsmanship, the company intends to thwart the competition with their high quality and easily affordable merchandise.
