Tulum, Gay Travel Guide

By Ricardo d Argence

Mexico is a top vacation spot and there is no doubt why. It is an amazing place that is not just somewhere to catch some sun on the sandy beaches. There are some great hot spots, like Tulum, that let you combine the historic sites and the great beaches for one unforgettable vacation.

Tulum is a city with fantastic archeological findings and amazing beaches. It is located just south of Playa del Carmen and Akumai. Sited on the limestone cliffs, Tulum looks out over the Caribbean Sea.

Tulum is a nice mix of history and the beaches Mexico is well known for. You will get to experience both of them right in the same area where you can focus on having a good time instead of traveling about the country to see all the different types of sites.

The archeological site here was built between 1200 and 1450. The Mayans just abandoned their cities during the 16th century.

It was one of the last cities of the Mayans. The highest building in the city is El Castillo, a beacon to guide visitors through the coral reefs.

The wall surrounded the city in all the three sides this scenario was unique. This wall is seven meters thick and up to five meters tall. The wall has a walkway that was used by warriors in their defense of the city. The remaining side of the city is protected by the sea.

Now, sixty buildings are still at the scene, those are all open for visitors. There are information panels on the walls to help visitors on their self-guided tour of the site.

There are excellent beaches in Tulum, just as you would hope for a visit to Mexico's coast. They are among the world's top scenic beaches, and tourists travel from all accross the globe to see them.

The beaches have transparent blue water and white dunes. The coral reefs off the coast are a great place for diving and snorkeling.

Tulum's reef is part of the Great Mayan Reef which spreads from Cancun, Mexico, to Roatan, Honduras, and which is the second biggest in the world. It is 1000 kilometers with 120 kilometers at the Tulum beach.

The waters off the beach offer a chance to see 84 different types of coral and over 450 types of fish and other sea creatures. It is a true adventure.

Tulum is without a doubt one of the most amazing places in Mexico and has so much to offer. You will always remember your visit to this place, so rich this place is.
